The culmination of many days, weeks, months, and years of

finger-dancing on my keyboard

occurred on Friday, April 24, 2026,

with a Celebration and a full house at Casita & Garden.

My favorite venue in Puerto Vallarta, México.

The phenomenally talented musical duo, Tromba Vetusta, filled the garden with music, and The Garden's fabulous staff welcomed each guest with a delicious berry Sangria and served bites of each of Casita & Garden's delectable pizzas.

Some stories are found. Others find you.

Julz is a writer, and she’s stuck. She’s been drowning in a project that has no soul and a deadline that won’t throw her a life preserver. Desperate for a spark, she heads to the humid, jazz-soaked streets of New Orleans, a city she loves for its intense contrast to her home along the inland shores of the Pacific Northwest, with its majestic driftwood statues.

She expects inspiration. She doesn’t expect him.

Is it by chance or destiny that she meets a mysterious collector of river drift in a coffee shop who tells her a fragment of a story he claims only she is meant to write?

When Julz returns home, the boundary between her life and the stranger’s tale begins to erode. She is haunted by dreams, peculiar encounters and impossible coincidences. Time, a tricky fluid acquaintance, eludes her as she drifts between her own reality and what remains an enigma.

What ensues is a tale of humor and horror, adventure and angst, danger and daring, mystery and mayhem, love and tragedy.
